LITTLE PETER
Each piece that I create is based on the charming early cloth dolls and animals of the 19th and early 20th century. I have always admired the creativity and handwork that women and sometimes men used to make playthings for their children. They treasured each piece of fabric, thread, wool, etc. that went into the creation of "something from nothing." And those created pieces were, in turn, treasured by those who received them.
 
 


 
BE MY VALENTINE

In keeping with that premise, I work with pieces of vintage textiles, as well. Many of my pieces have individually molded heads and feet and are on wire frames to allow them to stand. My cloth dolls are stuffed with wool and sometimes sawdust with hand painted faces. Each piece is dressed in clothing of my own design. I work only with vintage fabrics. In addition, I enjoy making many seasonal pieces which are also based on early toys. As I make each piece "from scratch," no two are exactly alike. My hope is that they will charm and be treasured, as well.
