KEEPING THE WINTER WARM
|
Living for many years on the North Shore of Boston with it's surroundings of beautiful coastal scenery, architectural treasures and history, was an inspiration. The famous itinerant artist Rufus Porter of Boxford influenced me as well as the philosophy of Eric Sloane and Charles Wysocki's original Americana style of painting. The "old" heritage feeling in my work has a traditional blend and simplicity of our Early American warmth and occasionally a little touch of whimsy. I also post additional information on my blog, christophergurshin.blogspot.com where I write about my work, collectors, and New England interests.
One can visit my gallery at the King Hooper Mansion in Marblehead, Massachusetts or the Studio/Gallery in Glastonbury, Connecticut where you will find paintings and many unique accent pieces.
