PHEASANTS

My work reflects an intense interest in history and folk life in the 19th century. The forms I create are reminiscent of vessels, such as the utilitarian ware of jugs and crocks. I also make figural pieces of animals and birds.
I use hand made slips for colors that are brushed on and liquid porcelain that is sliptrailed on the vessels. The subject matter ranges from Patriotic to nature. Such as my George Washington jug to my Bird vase. I sometimes make the images more simple and primitive like my Cotton Pickers or more detailed like my Cotton jug. I love doing both. All my glazes are hand made using hand gathered indigenous and other natural materials.
I do take orders and enjoy making custom pieces from 6 to 36 inches in height.
