Janet Reid has spent the last 20 years painting with wool. Rug hooking is her passion and she enjoys creating original designs that reflect her New England and Pennsylvania origins. Not only does she create rugs with an “old feel” but it is not uncommon to have a bit of whimsy included.
Her pieces are created on linen or cotton backing. She uses 100% wool fabric, much of which is hand dyed, to create her original designs.
Janet has been chosen by Early American Life magazine for its Directory of Best Traditional Craftsmen, and appeared in Country Living and Rug Hooking Magazines. You can find her most recent collaboration, Basic Rug Hooking: All the Skills and Tools You Need to Get Started, in bookstores.
Not limited to rugs, Janet creates wall hangings, covered antique foot stools and assorted unique small pieces. Commissions allow Janet to work with her customers to create the special piece they are looking for.
